FAQs
How does FreshSaver™ keep produce fresh longer?
As fruits and vegetables ripen, they naturally emit ethylene gas
that speeds up the ripening process. Patented FreshSaver FreshFilters™
absorb produce-spoiling ethylene gas, slowing the ripening process,
while the innovative Produce Keeper™ containers
provide an ideal environment for keeping produce fresher longer.
How much longer can I expect my fruits and vegetables
to last?
That depends on the age and condition of the produce that you
placed in the FreshSaver Produce Keeper container. Our tests have
shown on average that produce lasts up to 3 times longer when stored
in a FreshSaver Produce Keeper container than when stored in a store
produce bag in the crisper bin. For example, our tests have shown
lettuce lasts over twice as long.
Are FreshSaver Produce Keepers and FreshFilters safe?
FreshSaver is completely safe to use. The active ingredients in
FreshSaver FreshFilters are non-toxic and release no harmful gases.
Approved for use by the Organic Material Review Institute, these
ingredients are commonly used by grocers, commercial, and organic
growers.
Will FreshSaver Produce Keeper containers work in my refrigerator
crisper bin? On the refrigerator shelf? In the freezer?
FreshSaver Produce Keeper containers work effectively in the
crisper bin or on a shelf of the normal refrigeration section
of your refrigerator. FreshSaver Produce Keeper containers
should not be used in the freezer section of your refrigerator.
Is it best to leave my produce uncut when storing in
my Produce Keeper container?
For optimum freshness, leave fruits and vegetables uncut
until they're ready to eat.
Are FreshSaver Produce Keeper containers dishwasher
safe?
Yes (top shelf only), but you must remove the FreshFilter pack
before washing. The FreshFilter pack should not get wet. If
you accidentally wash the FreshFilter pack, dispose of the FreshFilter
pack immediately and wash hands thoroughly. Run your dishwasher
2-3 times to clear of FreshFilter contents.
How do I re-order FreshSaver Produce Keeper containers
and FreshFilter packs?
FreshSaver Produce Keeper containers and FreshFilter packs are
available exclusively through www.freshsaver.com or by calling 866-FRSH-SVR
(866-377-4787) between the hours of 8am and 8pm EST Monday through

with proper usage, FreshSaver Produce Keepers will prolong the freshness
of your fruits and vegetables. If within ninety days of purchase
you are not satisfied with your FreshSaver Produce Keepers, return

FreshFilters
How long do FreshSaver FreshFilters last?
From the time you open the FreshFilter pack from its wrapper,
each FreshSaver FreshFilter pack will last approximately 3 months.
We recommend changing the filters every 3 months regardless of
the frequency of usage. Unopened FreshFilter packs will last
several years. Each FreshFilter pack has a place for you to write
in the date you need to replace the filter.
How do I install the FreshSaver FreshFilter?
Remove the FreshFilter from the protective pouch. Record a replacement
date on the FreshFilter once you unwrap it. Place the
FreshFilter in the FreshSaver Produce Keeper lid.
Make sure the directional mark on the FreshFilter is aligned
with the "Unlock" mark on the lid. Turn
the FreshFilter clockwise until the directional mark is aligned
with the "Lock" mark on the lid.
Place produce in your FreshSaver Produce Keeper, keeping lid
on tight and store in your refrigerator.
How do I remove the FreshSaver FreshFilter?
Turn the FreshFilter so that the directional mark is aligned
with the "Unlock" mark on the lid. Remove the FreshFilter
and place in a dry location before washing your Produce Keeper
container. Re-insert the FreshFilter once the lid is dry.
What do I do with my FreshFilter pack after it has been
used for 3 months?
FreshFilter packs are non-hazardous and can be safely discarded
in your household garbage. As the natural mineral in the
FreshFilter pack absorbs produce-ripening gas, it breaks down
into a harmless element.
What are the active ingredients in the FreshFilters?
Zeolite, an all natural mineral, and Potassium Permanganate,
a dark purple crystalline compound, commonly used as an oxidizing
agent, a disinfectant, and as an ingredient in deodorizers and
dyes.
What if a FreshFilter pack opens and the ingredients
touch my produce?
Wash your produce thoroughly. The active ingredients in FreshFilter
packs are not for human consumption.
